It's a Boy!

We have ourselves a little son! His name Is Ashton Reed! He was born 8-8-06 at 9:40 AM and weighed 6.13.5 and was 20.5 inches long!
God chose to bless us with a Down Syndrome baby and we ask for your prayers of wisdom and guidance as we travel down this uncertain road. He had no serious health issues at this time which we are praising God for but he does have weak tone in his mouth muscles which made it very trying for me to nirse and we were in the hospital NICU for 8 days to get him antibiotics for a test which came back negative then.....he does have a PDA but that is showing a good report too.
He started to nurse on monday for me now so I pray we can continue for his health sake as they are more prone to pick up things....I will limit his going away to a minimum and visitors will have to abide by our guidlines for visiting him.
I have been having pain in my leg and had some chest pain as well but I had an ultrasound done yesterday and it came back negative but the leg still is sore, so I ask for prayers that I can rest and not worry about it too much.
The children go back to school tomorrow. So there goes my help but it will be good for them to have a normal routine again.....Please write me comments!

God will be with you . . . God bless you . . . He will bless His children with peace. . .
Praying for you, my friend - Aimee
I like the name you chose.
Sorry I have not written sooner! We were moving our store and I just haven't read many blogs for a while.
Sometimes we see mostly the packaging and don't see the gift inside. I remember when Val Yoders went thru that with their daughter Kayla who had severy seizures for two years till the Lord took her to be with Him. They stated that it was so easy to just see the outside wrapping and fail to see the hidden treasure inside.
We will be praying for you guys as you go thru this adjustment and learn to live and love in a new dimension.
I too really like the name!
Hi, I am your friend Karen's sister. She told me you had a baby with DS, so I just wanted to post a quickie to say congratulations, and I hope you have as much fun with him as we have had with our little Robbie who also has DS. I just saw your little guy's picture and he's a cutie. I am trying to find some articles which really encouraged me after Robbie was born, to send to you via email. Robbie is 26 months now and is taking several steps independantly, and has been climbing lots on the couch, but today he discovered the joy of climbing on the kitchen chairs. He's realized there is a whole new territory to explore (the table, cupboards, kitchen sink (glass dishes, knives and all). He's checked out the cupboards and dressers a million times or so, and the toilet a few times as well. He's a real tease and a Daddy's boy of late, and such a blast. God will surely bless you as you raise your son in a Christian home.
